pronounced: ge-ra-zants means “excellent” in Armenian

growing up, My grandpa spent a lot of time with me, teaching me to read and write in Armenian.

He was strong, patient and kind. he always maintained a positive attitude. he was my best friend.

Whenever I would ask, “how are you doing papik jan (dear grandpa) ?”

He would always smile and respond in his joyful & resilient tone, “gerazants!”

to me, gerazants honors that joyful & resilient spirit within the armenian people 🇦🇲

Gerazants is an ongoing documentary project honoring my Armenian roots & homeland.
