2004: Yerevan, Armenia

a decade later, i returned to my homeland for the first time. i don’t have a single tangible photo from my trip, only fragments in my mind.

I was a tween, wore glasses, very awkward. wore lots of colors. didn’t like attention.

i liked walking in the street. i liked seeing kids playing outside. i didn’t like the stray dogs chasing us for food.

i stayed at my grandmas house. she cooked a lot. I ate a lot. I watched latin soap operas translated into armenian.

i realized i could daydream > lucid dream.

I met some of my family I hadn’t seen since I was born.

though i felt surprisingly comfortable there, it didn’t feel like home.
